Volunteer

2XX relies on its fantastic volunteers to make the station what it is. There are many positions for volunteers, as well as on-air presentation and pre-production, there are many other useful roles. Most only involve a few hours a week. If you can help regularly and can work at your own pace without much supervision, we would be very happy to get you started. 2XXfm is committed to providing a good work environment and supporting and recognizing everyone’s efforts. Here are some of the tasks we do: 

• Answer phone, manage emails, greet visitors
• publicise 2XXfm & our events
• keep subscriber records up to date
• put out Communique
• source prizes for next radiothon
• write announcements for presenters
• produce recorded promos for community groups
• load music into 2XXfm's audio server computer
• present local community news
• assist with Outside Broadcasts
• and much, much more...
  

What ever you are good at, chances are we need you at 2XX.

Training

Have you been thinking about doing the 2XXfm training course to become an announcer?

Then do the 2XX training course, iIt costs $80 for subscribers and consists of one whole day (on a Saturday) followed by six one and a half hour practical sessions on weekday evenings.

You’ll learn how to use current state-of-the-art radio broadcasting equipment and learn about the Radio Industry in Australia, Media Law, Codes of Practice, Copyright Law, Interviewing Skills and other media contact outlets.
