History - What we do - Staff - 2XXfm Constitution - The Board

History

2XXfm (98.3) is one of Canberra's alternative independent radio stations and one of Australia's longest running, beginning in 1976.

What we do

We belong to and represent the community and we are very accessible.

Being Canberra's general community broadcaster means we cater to a diverse range of cultural, social, ethnic, arts, local music, educational, indigenous, current affairs and environmental groups who would not ordinarily be able to gain access to radio media.

We provide a unique and valuable outlet for views, news, music and art where people can voice their experiences, events and knowledge.

We're a voice for everyday people and we're fortunate to have such a unique facility.

Staff

2XXfm is run almost entirely by approx. 150 volunteers who are assisted by a limited number of paid staff.
