The NFSA hosts the Canberra premiere of Behrouz, a feature documentary about Kurdish-Iranian journalist Behrouz Boochani’s experience of immigration detention on Manus Island.

Boochani spent 6 years in detention after fleeing the Iranian regime and arriving in Australia by boat in 2013. Relayed via smuggled mobile phone, his writings brought the horrific reality of life for detainees to international attention.

There will be a post-screening Q&A with director Simon V Kurian and Boochani (livestream from NZ).
