On Sunday 27 August at 12:30PM, the Reel McCoy Film Group will screen “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”, a 1954 film about a mountain farmer who goes to town to get himself a wife. He finds one and takes her home, where there are six brothers who decide to do exactly the same. The politically incorrect plot is handled with a wholesome humour that makes this film irresistible, along with infectious music, a funny script, and fabulous dance sequences. Audiences so loved it, it became a popular Broadway show.
