On Sunday 23 February at 12:30PM, the Reel McCoy Film Group is showing director Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Conversation”. Released in 1974, the film has been described as a masterpiece that unites the sensibilities of the European New Wave cinema with classic American crime. Harry Caul (played by Gene Hackman) is a professional wiretapper who is hired by a mysterious client to monitor a couple as they walk through Union Square in San Francisco; Caul records a statement rich in menace: “He’d kill us if he got the chance.”
