The next SCIENCE. ART. FILM. event features American Sign Language-film Sound of Metal. This film challenges stereotypes and invites hearing audiences to think differently about how deafness might impact sense of self and relationships with others.
The screening will be followed by a virtual discussion with an all-Deaf panel, exploring cochlear implants and the complex place they hold in Deaf Culture. The film will screen with open captions; the panel will be signed by Auslan interpreters.
