While investigating a bomb threat, FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) are warned that the bomb was used as a cover-up for an alien virus. As secret government forces conspire to stop them, the two agents must keep one step ahead and rely on each other to discover the truth – and save the world.
