There are programs that people listen to, and there are programs that people remember. And then there is Serbia in My Heart — a show that, from its very first autumn broadcast in 2019 until this April 2026, was not merely listened to but lived. Every Tuesday at 7 p.m., for a full thirty minutes, the radio waves became a bridge between people, tradition, and time, carrying the voices of those who preserve what is most precious to us: our Serbian identity.
From the beginning, Serbia in My Heart had a clear mission — to introduce listeners to individuals whose work, knowledge, and dedication safeguard Serbian culture, faith, art, and history.

Here in Canberra, the 2XX 98.3FM studio welcomed guests who, each in their own way, served as guardians of our heritage: ethnologists, artists, priests, ambassadors, historians, writers, musicians, researchers, and traditional craftsmen. Their stories were never just interviews; they were small chronicles of the soul of a nation in diaspora.
In a world that changes at a dizzying pace, this program offered something rare — a moment to slow down, return to our roots, and remember what shapes us. Every Tuesday evening was an opportunity to reflect on who we are, where we come from, and why it matters to protect what we have inherited. That is why listeners across the world were drawn to the sincerity, warmth, and depth of the conversations, as well as the sense of belonging the show evoked.

Today, as Serbia in My Heart approaches its final broadcast, it is not just a radio program that is coming to an end — an entire chapter of shared journey is closing. But the legacy it leaves behind is deep and lasting. Seven years of voices, memories, songs, customs, and stories remain as a testament that tradition can be preserved even in a time when everything feels fleeting.
Because Serbia in My Heart was never just a radio show. It was a community. It was an emotion. It was a bridge. And it will remain a part of us forever.
